The Big Day

We all got special permission to be at our co-op early, and we couldn’t wait to get started.  At 10 am we arrived excitedly to the studio where the wonderful hair and makeup team had already started on the models. Jen Oshimo and Jaime Morrison were so awesome to work with.  We discussed the look that we had previously decided upon, which was very simple and elegant. It was really fascinating to watch the whole process of the makeup and...

The Planning Process

It all began with a stack of magazines and a pile of sticky notes. We went through the magazines and noted all the photos, dresses, hairstyles and decor that we liked in order to compile exactly what kind of things we would include in this styled shoot. To say the least, we had a lot of ideas and there was a rainbow of sticky notes. This was merely to get our thinking process going before we moved onto the next stage.... PINTER...

How it all started

Welcome to our blog on creating a styled shoot!  We are Carly, Destiny (St. Patrick’s High School), and Emily (Hammarskjold High School), the co-op students with Carte Blanche this semester. In case you’re not familiar, Carte Blanche is the Westfort home to Maid for the Bride, Laura Myers Photography and Swag Events.

When first hearing about the styled shoot we were thrilled.  Not only because we had the opportunity to design an e...

This is such an exciting time!  It’s both exciting and scary all at once.  My first piece of advice? Remember, this is the first day of your “happily ever after” and we want to make sure that yo...

Quality video that tells your story doesn’t go out of style. What better story to tell than that of yourself and your life partner? A wedding video is a great record of yourselves and close family and friends on the happiest day of your lives. A video captures what photos won’t, and the best part is you get to relive and remember those special moments for decades to come.

Some couples that we work with know from the day they get engaged (or even be...

Many wedding traditions are being modernized by some of today’s more progressive couples. Details that were at one time absolute must-haves – a church, an all-white dress – are now up for interpretation and it is not uncommon, rather, it is the norm for modern brides and grooms to put their own spin on long-held customs or forego them all together.

The latest thing being re-considered is the use of a DJ, as some couples are now choosing to opt out...
